When Bridget used to host our local philosophy & conscious creation discussion evenings, one characteristic of them was my habit of asking three-hour long 'big' questions five minutes before the end. In this section we reform the five to eleven question tradition here online. Mind-Body Connection by James Blacker - 14th July 2006 With the connection between mind and body being so commonly understood these days I wondered what you thought about a concept that came to my mind recently on the subject, namely that as the two are so inseperably linked that to have a very healthy and radiant and vital body at very high levels requires/is only possible if one has a harmonious and spiritual mind, or at the very least an absence of and freedom from any thoughts and mindsets that aren't of this nature. So could we be saying that the higher and more spiritual, more loving one becomes, the same will correspond and manifest for one's body? And that any individual trying to develop a very highly radiant and healthful body will find that this doesn't work without the thoughts of honesty, love, and so on. ... doesn't work with thoughts of negativity and hatred. Are we seeing that heightened humanity, understanding and love is bringing nicer and more blessed levels of physical experience. Those who meditate tend to have healthier bodies and lives on the whole. Is it because this is linked and is what's going on? Maybe we are about to realise these ways of things? It could be a whole new enlightened understanding of the human physical body! What do you think? Thanks again, James Reply by Bridget Whiffin I would agree with the idea that a healthy, radiant and vital body comes about at the same time as having a 'harmonious and spiritual' mind. I'm not sure whether I would say it's only possible in that situation, as I think it's probably possible to have the healthy body without the spiritual mind. However, because our focus now is in expanding areas of our lives other than just physical, it may well be that we no longer find it possible to view what we would once have seen as a healthy body, as healthy, without there also being a spiritual mind. Mind you, I think I would agree that anyone trying to develop a healthy body whilst harbouring thoughts of negativity and hatred would have difficulty! I believe that hatred would come out physically somehow. The two goals/aims would be incompatible. So I guess I would also go with the idea that heightened humanity, understanding and love would bring heightened levels of physical experience. The Five To Eleven Question...
